Lovers of bold cigars can expect a new, limited-edition Camacho this week called Camacho Factory Unleashed, a Toro that brand owner Davidoff of Geneva says contains a “high-octane strain,” of Corojo tobacco.
Measuring 6 inches by 50 ring gauge, the Camacho Factory Unleashed Toro has a suggested retail price of $7.80, and is intended to be strong, with a multi-country blend consisting of a dark Ecuador Corojo wrapper, Honduran binder and filler from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The Honduran tobacco in the filler is Corojo as well.
The cigar is rolled with an exposed foot, allowing the flavors of the binder and filler tobaccos to be highlighted at first puff before the flame reaches the wrapper, “unleashing” the character of the Corojo cover leaf.
To reflect the bold blend, Davidoff is putting these toros in bold packaging—rustic crates of 100 cigars. Only 1,000 crates are being produced, which will go out to brick-and-mortar shops this Thursday on May 27. An additional 2,500 bundles of 10 will be sent out to online retailers.
